Video Doc.
So as far as my video doc on what i've been learning its going okay. Acutally ive really become productive on it once i put out all my ideas on paper. At first i couldnt start at all, after staring at the computer screen for an hour, i realized that im way better at writing my ideas out. so i began writing my intro and drawing out little boxes where the pics would go. after that the ideas began flowing. I started to use my own music and finally got gabcasst to work. i have fought with movie maker here and there but for the most part. i have like a minute and a half and i think its a start.. for sure. and what pkittle!

Learning and Action
This chapter i felt was way more interesting than the rest, maybe because i can relate to a lot of what Gee was pointing out. Especially with the cultural models, because i find that sometimes we all are put into "groups" and single out other groups. "People are good people when they are acting so as to help their group" this is so true. so in contrast, with learning when we are taught something we want more of a hands on approach and then we 'throw it up' and teach it to other people in our group. We as an individual believe in certain things and ways of living. So when Gee says that social groups do not pay much attention to their cultural models, i would have to dissagree, in our everyday lives we see and hear about culutres everday. video games are their own culture.
It Couldn't Hurt
Chapter 3's learning and idenity theory, kinda made more sense to me that what the last chapter was about. i can tottaly see that you can change idenities more than once if needed. its like youre a different person when you play games , are around certain people and when youre alone. we learn to change i guess, i mean you know other peoples boundaries and sometimes you even know what 'buttons' to push so that you can get a rise out of them. we create our own idenity

Gee on Video Games
I used to like playing video games when i was younger. maybe because it was only supposed to be a 'boy' thing and i always wanted to do what the boys did. i got really into them, for a while, i would spend hours playing games untill one day i was bored outof my mind. maybe because i couldnt pass the last level. anyways i think that reading the book will be intersting it really caught my attention and i like how he's actually speaking to us from personal experiance..
